Yokoluş İsyanı ve Londra

The motives of the Extinction Rebellion are indeed very noble. But, are they doing themselves any favours? Recently, I have started to wonder if they are going about making changes in the right way. As a matter of fact, I have started to wonder if they are not just infuriating local people.

Take a closer look at what they are doing, and you will soon appreciate that the cause is great, but the way they go about it, leaves a lot to be desired.

Small London Business Suffer

The aim of the Extinction Rebellion is very much to change the way large global corporate businesses operate. Unfortunately, what they do, does not really get to the root of the problem. Instead they cause massive disruption for small local business. At the moment, many small local businesses in London are struggling to survive anyway. Do they really need the hassle of having members of the Extinction Rebelling camped outside?

If the Extinction Rebelling would like to make a difference, and create true change, it would be much better if they could tackle larger businesses in London. They are often the ones that contribute much more to pollution than smaller business. For instance, a larger business will have more delivery vehicles delivering goods to it on a daily basis. All of these vehicles do create pollution. A smaller business, will have fewer deliveries.

Targeting Big Businesses

Yes, London is polluted, but let’s take a look at where the pollution originates. Much of the pollution actually originates outside of London. Small delivery vehicles from companies such as Amazon, run in and out of London all day. If we truly what to cut pollution levels in London, we should look at the way online sales organisations access London.

Maybe it is about time, we had some sort of central hub outside of London. If larger vehicles delivered their goods there, a fleet of smaller vehicles could take over. Yes, it would be nice to think that everything could be delivered by drones, but is there enough capacity in the system. A fleet of electric vehicles could then access London and make the deliveries.

Why Is This So Important?

There are many reasons we need to plan ahead. But, above all, the main reason this is so important, is that we are likely to become a nation of home shoppers. We are ordering more and more stuff online. In the future, this will increase. I really think that it is about time that we sorted out this problem once and for all. Instead of acting be a knee-jerk reaction, it is time to plan for the future.

Our future will look so different that we find it hard to imagine. It is very likely most of us will work from home. This could potentially mean that we will not leave our home unless we plan to take part in leisure activities. Food, clothes, and what else we need to buy, can all be ordered online today. If that is what we can today, what will the future look like?

What is Our Future?

We really need to sit down and think about this right now, and then take the right action. Maybe this is what the Extinction Rebellion should be offering instead of spreading alarm and negativity. Many factors influence our climate. As scientists know, it is not only what happens on earth that matters.

Our nearest star has a lot to do with the weather. Perhaps, if we dealt with all of the problems that we have, we could sit down and focusing on conducting some pure science.

If we are heading for a new ice age, we should be planning for that. There is plenty of evidence for a new ice age. We know the climate will have to heat up and water levels rise. Isn’t that exactly what is happening right now? The ice on both poles are melting and the sea level is rising. What if the big freeze takes place?

Are we ready for our environment to change drastically? The answer is that we are not, but no matter what we do, change is taking place. We can help ourselves by working together and sorting all of the problem. We are all in the same boat. This is a complexed problem with many solutions.
