Vichai was a successful businessman. He was the CEO of king power duty free, owner of a Belgium football club OH Leuven. Forbes magazine named him the fifth richest man in Thailand with a net worth of US$ 4.9billion as of 2018. Vichai was well connected to his Thai culture and Buddhism where he frequently invited monks to pray for his players to win and the club’s success. Leicester city management team and the entire football club fraternity have sent condolences to the family and friends of its chairman and boss and all those affected by the loss. In a statement, the Duke of Cambridge expressed his gratitude for the contributions made by Mr. Vichai in the English football, in particular the English premier league and the FA competition where he is the president.
