Safe Dating During Global Epidemics

Can you still going out on physical dates despite the fact we are experiencing a global epidemic?

There is no reason you can’t go out on physical dates during the current ongoing epidemic. Don’t forget that it is important to follow all of the current rules and guidelines.

Fed Up With Internet Dating?

So, you met someone hot online recently and now you would to meet them in the flesh? That would be great, wouldn’t it? Despite the fact that it is okay to meet up, many people are holding back. They are worried that they are going to catch the virus and become seriously ill.

But, if you play by the rules, there is no reason why you can’t meet up. Many people are already going out on first physical dates with others they have met online.

To make the most out of your date, it is important to get creative. No longer is at easy to meet for a casual coffee or drink as it was before lockdown. Now, if you want to meet someone for the first time, and make them part of your social bubble, you need to plan ahead.

Do I Need To Wear My Face Mask On Date Night?

If you are not part of someone’s social bubble, it is certainly a good idea to wear your face mask on your first date night. He or she may just be fine, but you never know. If you can keep social distance, there may not be a need for a mask .

Nevertheless, you should consider it an option. After all, you need to wear your mask on all public transport in London.

How Much Distance Do I Need To Keep?

Do you know what? This is a tough one. Personally, I don’t think the government has made it clear. It would be safe to say that you need to keep at least one metre apart.

The good news is that most pubs, bars and restaurants are ready to deal with the situation. Some even have extra large tables available just for date night.

All you need to do is to explain that you are on a date night with a new friend and they will do their best to accommodate you.

What Can We Do On Our Date?

Of course, you can meet up and go for a meal or drink. However, if you worry about being in crowded places, you may want check out some of the other activities that you can do on date night in London.

First of all, do you need to meet up in the evening. Going on a daytime date opens up a plethora of exciting choices you can make. London is, after all, packed with things you can do.

There are a few places around you are not going to be able to social distance, but I have still got a couple of hot tips for you.

Did you know that there are places in London just crying out for visitors? Thanks to the coronavirus, this is a great time to see all of things you always wanted to see in London. There are far fewer maddening crowds.

How about meeting up for a tour of the Tower of London? Normally, you would have to stand in line for hours to get in, but now you don’t have to. Sadly, a lot of people never visit historic hotspots in London. They are often overcrowded and packed with tourists. Currently, the most popular sites run a lot of special offers.

If you don’t fancy going into the Tower and saying hello to the ravens and the Yeoman, you can always find a park bench and enjoy an ice-cream outside. This is a very historic part of London and even while you are enjoying your ice-cream, you can talk about what life used to be in London.

Popping Over To The Zoo

I have to admit that I am not that sort of girl who normally likes going to the zoo. However, I have to admit I like London Zoo. It is so much more user-friendly than other zoo’s that I have been to.

If you like, London Zoo is still very much the kind of zoo where you can stop for a cup of tea, buy a balloon and act like a big kid. So many zoo’s make a big play about conservation. I know it is important, but sometimes you just want to enjoy the antics of the animals. That is exactly what you can do at London Zoo.

Kew Gardens in Richmond

Did you know that 9 out 10 Londoners have never been to Kew Gardens? This is such as a shame as it is a great place to go. You can go into the Palm House and check out the massive water lilly leaves.

In early spring, Kew Gardens put on a butterfly display and let hundreds of butterflies fly around the Palm House. During the winter, you can often catch a sculpture exhibition or light show in and around the gardens.

Yes, you can take a break in the cafe.

All of these are fantastic things you can do while still socially distancing.

Can I Picnic In A London Park?

Yes, you can bring a picnic and enjoy it any of London’s parks. Please make sure you clear everything up before you go home.

It is easy to socially distance while enjoying a picnic. Bring a large blanket and you can both have your own space. Sharing cutlery is out of the question. Before you go, make sure your wrap up sets of cutlery in individual napkins.

You can’t share drinks or cups either. It is best to bring cans of drink and buy a take-away coffee while you are out and about.

Can you kiss? Well, this is the big question everybody would like to have an answer to. Sadly, kissing a new love interest during the coronavirus is not the smartest thing to do. Wait until you have known each other for a couple of weeks. If you have not come down with the virus, it should be safe to kiss.
