লন্ডনে থাকার সময় কীভাবে স্বাস্থ্যকর জীবনযাপন করবেন
As us Londoners know, pollution levels in some parts of London are reaching dangerously high levels. The Mayor, Sadiq Khan, has certainly taken on a major challenge when it comes to reducing pollution levels. It is great, but what can you do to improve your own health and enjoy a better lifestyle? Let’s face it, we all need to look after our health. Pollutants in our local environment can seriously wreak havoc and cause a range of health problems such as asthma.
To increase the number of antioxidants you are eating to help fight off those nasty pollutants, you could try going vegan. Don’t rush into a vegan diet. Changing what you eat too quickly is not a good idea as it could upset your digestive system. However, going vegan is easier than you think. For instance, if you eat porridge or muesli for breakfast, all you need to do is to swap out your milk for hazelnut, almond or coconut based milk. Going vegan for breakfast is easier than you think.
What about lunch? A healthy vegan lunch can be made from scratch in a couple of minutes. You can try making your own salad, vegetable soup, or just a healthy avocado sandwich. Some vegetables are easier to use than others. For instance, a tomato and wholemeal pasta salad make a great alternative to a sandwich. You can add exciting herbs such as oregano and even add beetroot to make sure you increase your daily intake of antioxidants.
Most people who would like to try a vegan diet find the main meal of the day a real challenge. It often means cooking for the entire family which can be a little bit hard work. Most kids like easy dishes such as pasta and lasagne. Making a vegan lasagne is quick and the kids will love to help you by preparing the vegetables. Add different types of mushrooms to take the opportunity to teach your kids about bio-diversity while you are doing the cooking. You can even grow your own mushrooms which gives your children a chance to find out how food is produced.
You should also try to get more active. Exercising can be fun for the entire family. Spending more time outside will increase your oxygen intake. It goes without saying that you should not spend time out in busy London traffic. Instead, try one of the parks. During the spring and summer time, there is plenty of activities which you can participate in. Try to look out for yoga and tai-chi classes which will give you some vital exercise in a gentle sort of way.
Spring clean your home and make it smell great by using natural cleaners instead of harmful chemical. You can have fun mixing your own. Aim to use white vinegar with the addition of acidic fruits like lemons and oranges. You can also add essential oil which will make your home smell great. Living a healthier lifestyle will make you feel great, and before you know it, you will realise you have more energy to do the things you always wanted to do.
